Join friends from Wayne State and the University of Michigan Wesley Foundation for this service trip in Detroit! Projects will include demolition and construction on the new “Cass CommuniTea House” with Cass Community UMC plus work with other local Detroit partner orgs. Evening social events around town and worship opportunities Sunday morning will also be available.
COST:
$35/person includes accommodations, meals and project costs
PACKING SUGGESTIONS:
- Sturdy work clothes and close-toed shoes for Saturday (we’ll be doing some demolition work, so it might get dusty)
- Sleeping Bag or Bedding, Towel and toiletries if staying at Calvary UMC
- DART App on Phones if you are interested in using public transportation while in town

12pm - Lunch
3pm - Service Day concludes
4pm - Arrival at Calvary UMC (15050 Hubbell Ave, Detroit, MI 48227) for those in need of overnight accommodations.
6pm - Dinner & Conversation at Traffic Jam & Snug (511 W Canfield St, Detroit, MI 48201)
8pm - Evening option at Pop + Offworld (128 Cadillac Square, Detroit, MI, Abobe Checker Bar) for games, slices and conversation.
Sunday
9am - Breakfast at Calvary UMC, Clean Up & Move Out
11am - Worship at Cass Community UMC
12:30pm - Closing Lunch & Conversation at Motor City Brewing Works (470 W Canfield St, Detroit, MI 48201)
