Rules for the New Life

Consider

"If you have two coats, you've stolen one from the poor." - Dorothy Day

Read

Ephesians 4:28 - 5:2

Ask

  1. Describe a moment when you took something from someone else?  Why did you do it?
  2. Ephesians tells us about what the "new life" will look like.  What parts of this description stood out in your mind?
  3. Thieves are instructed to stop stealing, but why?
  4. How else does the Bible stretch us, challenge us and redirect our behavior by placing visions of the good before us?

Move

Take 30 seconds to think of one selfish thing in your life you could give up.  Take another 30 seconds to think of one selfless, Christ-sharing behavior you could do instead.  Text both ideas to your closest friend.
